Throughout 2014, Structec has been working with Knowsley Community College to ensure our workforce has the appropriate Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) qualifications to meet the multi-trade demands of modern property maintenance.
Danny Carty, Trainer Assessor for Construction at Knowsley Community College has been working with Geoff Davies, our Performance and Quality Manager, to identify suitable NVQ Level 2 Maintenance Operations courses which would enhance and verify the current workforce skills and also enable them to satisfy CSCS requirements.
So far nine employees in 2014 have participated in the programme who already have considerable building skills developed over many years of experience, but previously not had the opportunity to formally prove their competence and gain certification.
This exercise has been a key aspect of our Training and Continuing Professional Development Plan ensuring our workforce consistently meets the standards required for public procurement.
